In the mail was notification that I’m officially an airhead. ABC#8357.

Some of you probably knew that before I got the number to prove it.

Sad to read the NY Times report. Suicide.

To get an idea of why he resonates with motorcyclists, read his Song of the Sausage Creature, his review of a Ducati in 1995 for Cycle World magazine. That article gave us one of the clearest explanation of, “Why?”

Some people will tell you that slow is good — and it may be, on some days — but I am here to tell you that fast is better. I’ve always believed this, in spite of the trouble it’s caused me. Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube. That is why God made fast motorcycles, Bubba….

It took six months for vandals to find and deface NEDoD Wiki. Chris B. was right. Restoring from backups won’t solve the lack of user security beyond that provided by Apache, so I’ve moved to new software and recreated the site.

It’s still readable by anyone but if anyone wants to edit, they need to contact me for a username and password.

I was cleaning up a couple of directories this morning when I found this amusing story I culled last year from a motorcycle email list. I have no attribution other than that I received it third hand (or more) via the list. The author, Dave, was an American stationed at a NATO base in the Netherlands.
